1882- Franklin Leslie killed "Billy the Kid"
1832: The first streetcar goes into operation in New York City.
1851-"Moby Dick" was published
1914- Homan Empire declare "Holy War"
1940- Germans bombed the English city of Coventry
1951- U.S. gives military and economic aid to communist Yugoslovia
1972: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closes above 1,000 for the first time
