Happy Birthday Kelli

Kelli was born 33 years ago today. It was raining, I was suppose to start a new temp. job, but of course that did not happen. She was born 3 weeks early. I can still remember this as if it happened just yesterday. She was my first and I love every minute of it. She was a beautiful baby and slept late. I am so grateful she is my daughter and I love her with all my heart. Happy Birthday Kelli!!!!!

I was setting here looking at my past posts when the thought hit me that I need to be a better blogger. I am not a very good writer(as the rest of you) and nothing really exciting happens very often. I lead a rather boring life, compared to the rest of you family bloggers out their. So I have come to the conclusion that I need to get some fun in my life.

I am going to start a temp. job on Monday, one that I have done every tax season for the past 4 years. It is great to have a job. The money is running out. I am blessed that it last up until another jobs comes along.

Going on a Mission

This Year for Christmas

I skipped the sales after Thanksgiving.
The thrill just wasn't there.
No pictures taken with Santa Claus,
my decorating has no flair.
His presents are shoes, shirts and ties,
two suits and socks...no fun.
I've bought him all white clothes because

I've spent more time in the temple,
Felt strength come from His words.

This morning Traci gave birth to a beautiful little girl. Thank you Traci. Kelli had a boy and Tami is having a boy, we needed a girl. Her name is Tabitha Liette(a name from Jeff family) Read. She weighted 8lbs. 2oz, with red hair. All are doing well. She will post pictures when she gets home on Wednesday.

Kelli had her baby today at 4:45pm. She didn't go to the hospital until about 3:00pm. She had a little boy, 8lbs 10 oz, with lots of dark hair. His name is Jason Lloyd Dunn.

This morning while Mom and Donna where at Costco I started to clear out the pantry. We emptied everything, washed down the shelves and then put everything neatly back.I told Donna we should of taken before and after pictures but we forgot. This took us 5 hours. It really does looked great. We were both bushed by the time we finished.

Well it has finally happened, after 9 months. I am now among the employed. Yes- I have a job. I will start on February 23. I will be a Receptionist for State Farm Insurance in Burbank right by the Ikea Store. This is the longest it has ever taken me to find a job. I am so grateful to have this job. I have been blessed.

Thanksgiving

I was going to be here for Thanksgiving, in fact i was looking forward to seeing everyone. Then i got the opportunity to go to Utah and spend it with Eric. So off i went. it was good to see him again and spend time with him, We stayed with Richard one night and Charlie for the rest of the time. Thanks for having me it was fun. The weather was so cold, we went miniature golfing with Robert and Robin and i opted to go golf to cold for me. Went to BYU and bowled. Eric got 4 strikes in a row. I of course lost bowled a 95. I guess I need to practice more. The ride home was good the sun was out and the weather was good. Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Jamie's Birthday

Today Jamie turned 28 years old. I can still remember the day she was born. She was delivered by a woman doctor. The only one too. She looked like a little pa poos, she had olive skin, brown eyes, and dark hair. She, of all my children had the most hair. She was born to early in the morning, about 4:30am. She always has been a night person. Went to visit her yesterday and had lunch. Hope you have a happy birthday. I love you and I am glad you are my daughter and in our family. Love You so muchhhh! Painting a living room

The week before I went to see Kelli and her family. When I got there she was starting to paint her living room. Took her a few days, but with me there helped it go faster. Her living room looks great. Get her to post some pictures. She did a great job. I painted a couple of walls, made her do the hight spots. Had a great time. Even went to her ward trunk of treat party. It was something.

Today I help with the Prop. 8 activity. Several us stood on the sidewalk of a very busy street and waved signs. We were encouraging people to vote yes on Prop. 8. Many people honked their horns and gave us thumbs up signs. Some were not so nice. Told us to get a life, and said we were bigots. Heard a few choice words. In all it was not a bad experience. Would do it again in a heart beat. The weather was not the best in the world. We got rained on but only for a short time. The hard rain came later in the day. That I was thankful for.

Also went to a baptism for a boy I teach in Primary. To my surprise Helen and Susanne were in attendance. Had a nice chat with them.

Cell Phones in School

Having worked in the high school, cell phone can be very disruptive and take away from the learning process. Kids are always texting when the teacher is trying to teach. They do not care that it is against the rules and do as they please. I have taken phones away from students myself. They go to the teacher and get it back later. It has been along time since I posted. A lot has happened since then. I really do not know where to being, so I will just start writing. My job ended the end of April. I though no deal I'll just find another one. Went on Craig's list and they had many opportunities. So I applied for all the ones I was qualified for and heard back, went for many interviews. I thought I was saying and dressing the right way, but low and behold I am still looking. I wonder if my age has something to do with my lack of success. I have been going to the LDS employment agency for help with resumes and what ever else they can help me with. I have been to career builders.com, monster.com, and to as many temp. agencies that I can find. Still no luck. I am very discouraged. I have never had so much trouble finding employment in my life. Now everything is done on the computer. I went to the University of Northridge, because I was having trouble with the application. I thought I could pick up and app., but low and behold it is only done on the computer, so back I went and finally got the site to accept my application.

In June I went to see Eric in Provo, which is were he lives now. He was receiving his patriartical blessing. It was a wonderful experience for a mother to have. It is the 3 one I have set in on. It was good to visit him since I had not seen him in over a year. I saw Lyn while I was there. It was good to see him again. I love going to the Y and just walking around.

In July I went to Indiana for a week to see Traci and her family. Jeremy was getting baptized. It had been awhile since I had seen them. I had quiet the experience with thunder and lighting. It turned the whole sky white and scared me to death, we were driving on the freeway. Good thing Traci knew how to drive in this kind of weather.

In August I went to Vallejo, California to see Tami get married. I helped with the wedding via the computer. We would talk on yahoo messenger and go back and forth with ideas, and look at sites on the internet for things she need, and would send links to her. What computers can do. It was fun to help her even if we were miles away. The wedding was great. She has pictured posted on her blog. I don't have any pictures since it scares me to post them, since I don't know how. I well learn one day. Everyone says it is easy. In between all this I had to go to a funeral for my nephew on Jim's side. He had some problems and choose to deal with them by killing himself. It was very sad and a shame for such a young life.

ROLL,ROLL, ROLL

Eric has decided to move to Utah and go to the college in Orem. I always forget what it is call. So he left living with Traci on Tuesday morning. He went to visit Steven and Kim and spent the night. About 3:00 am on Thursday the wheel of his jeep caught the dirt as he over corrected when he saw a truck coming and the car flipped 3 times. There was a microwave in the front seat that never touched him as he was rolling. He walk away which the officer told him usually never happens in a situation like his. He realizes that the Lord was truly watching over him. He said it was like he was in a bubble. A friend from Provo came to get him. He was somewhere close to Price, Utah. His shoulder hurts, but other then that he is okay. Has no car of course. He can ride a bike for awhile he said. I am so grateful that the Lord was watching over him. Prayers do really work.

Tami is getting married in August, as of now anyway. The ceremony will be in Valljeo, where she lives. Only siblings,parents, & grandparents if they wish to come,those in the wedding party will be

Disneyland

Went to Disneyland with Eric on Saturday, his Dad also came. It was croweded as always. They even told you how long the wait would be for the ride. Most were about 70minutes. Went on Pirates, Haunted House, Mr. Toads Wild Ride, Autopia (the cars), Thrunder Mountain(will never do that again), closed my eyes the whole ride. Indiana Jones,(Eric said it was not like TM) so I went. Don't believe everything you hear, especially from a 20 yearold boy. Will also never go on that ride again. I kept my eyes open that time, big mistake. But we had a wonderful time. Eric is leaving on Wednesday, with some friends from BYU to work for the summer. He is going to put in Security Systems. He has training for a few days in Utah, then off to visit Traci for a few days, then on to Virgina I think. I believe he is going to several places to work. Hope all is well with everyone.

Well it has been quite awhile since I have blogged. I have a new job that keeps me very busy. I leave for work at about 6:45am and travel about an hour, to Valencia, CA. I work for a CPA. The tax season is the busiest. Corporate taxes where do March 15 and of course we have some late companies. I worked until about 5:45pm all week, plus the hour drive home I was very tired. All that is left is individual taxes and people always wait until the last minute especially if they owe money. My job is only temporary. When the tax is over so is my job. I work for Sam in 2004. He has asked me to back before but I did not. He gave me a raise and helped pay my gas. Good to be needed. He did not have to train me. I am tryiing to get him to hire me full time. I will even go back to school and learn Quickbooks and take the other half of my bookkeeping class. Eric is leaving at the end of the month to go and work with a friend of his from the Y. They are going to put in security systems in another state. Tami has moved to Oakland and is still going to school Jamie is still living with me and working at Toyko Steak. A Day In The E.R.

On Monday January 15th Jamie asked me to take her to the ER. She had been having pain for the last 5 days. When we got their the waiting room had only two other people. I thought this will not take very long. Faomous last words. We did not get in until 1 o'clock. We got their at 9. Needless to say the rest was downhill. The ER was so packed they had people everywhere. The ambulances just kept coming. They were lined up and down the hallway. It got so bad that no visitors were allowed in the ER. They had closed the ER at Antelope Vallley Hospital, so they were all beening sent to Lancaster Hospital, where we were. It was a night mare. They finally decided to admitt Jamie and we got a room at 8:30 pm. They thought it was her galbladder so they went in down her thoart and cleaned out the slug. She was in the hospital until Thrusday night. They di d not remover it. She is still in pain and on medication. They were really concerned about the levels of her red and white blood cells. They were below normal. They always have been. They are trying to get her records from Children's Hospital when she was younger and had all that trouble with her spline and liver. She will have a test on those later this week. So in the meantime we just sit and wait. Hopefully will have some news shortly after the test. Will keep you posted.

posting again after a long absence

I guess it is about time I start blogging again. My life is not very exciting, kind of drab really. I did go to Kelli's this weekend. Her friends in the Ward gave her a baby shower. She really go some very nice things. She is going to have a girl on December 17. I even won a prize. I even got to be their for her talk in Sacrament meeting. She and Kevin did a great job. Jamie and I watched the boys. It was great to see my grandchildren. Ryan can now sit by himself and is about ready to crawl. Physical therapy is really working great for him. I met the woman who gives it to him. She is really nice. Ryan has come along way. It is so exciting to see the improvement. It is just wonderful. Hope everyone is well and happy. Love to you all.

Dancing with the Stars

I was looking at Hannah's blog, when I remembered I too watched Dancing with the Stars. I really like Mario's dance. I thought his was the best. I was not impressed with the rest. Although I wish I could dance like that. I remember taking a ballroom dance class when I went to Ricks College. I really enjoyed that class. My favorite dancers are Fred and Ginger. Those were the good old days.

Of course you all know that Kelli is going to have a baby in December, the 17th in fact, well it is going to be a girl. Might as well go along with all the rest. She is rather excited. They are going to Argentina(hope i spelled that right) on friday for 10 days. Kevin parents are serving a mission their. Quite the traveler since she married Kevin. They have gone to Mexico City, Costa Rica, and now Argentina. Still have not found a job yet. School will start again on the 14th, but I was hoping to find a temporary job in between but no such luck. Hope all is well with everyone. Love to all.

BACK AT HOME

Well the traveler has returned. I had a great time at Traci's. It was great to see my grandchildren everyday. The day after I left they went around the house looking for grandma. Traci and Jeff have always blessed their babies while i was their. This time is actualy feel on a fast Sunday. We did lots of fun things while I was there. I also went to see Joan in Tennesse. I had a five hour lay over. I was good to see her. She took me around to see the town. Everything is green. We went to see the temple and her house. We had lunch together, then Fred came home to visit and they both took me to the airport. On the plane I sat next to a women who turned out to be a member of the church and her folks live in Quartz Hill, not to far from where I live. We had a nice chat. This is only the third time I have gone anywhere far away since I was sick. It was a relaxing time for me. I came home to a sisters weekend. It was great to get together and visit and eat. Which we did plenty of. Now it is time to find a job until school starts agaim. Need to pond the pavement. Great to read that everyone is doing well . Love to all.

ENGAGEMENT

Over the weekend Tami got engaged to Tyler. They plan to get married sometime next year. I am at Traci's for the next 2 weeks. The weather here is muggy and hot. My grandchildren were glad to see me. I have not seen them since October of last year when we all went to Sea World for a day. They were here on vacation and a wedding. Jeff's sister got married in Las Vegas. Well hope all is well with everyone. We are praying for everyone.

Today is Tami's 23rd birthday. I know it may seems strange to some people but I can remember the day she was born. I went to the hospital at 3am, because Jamie had come quickly. Tami was not born until 10:30am. She was a beautiful little thing. Besides Kelli she was my longest labor. Just want to wish her a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

I would like to wish everyone a happy mothers day. I went to mom's and joans family ccoked dinner. BBQ chicken,corn on the cob, rice, salad, and strawberry shortcake. I was great. We all had a nice visit. All my kids called and wished me a happy mothers day. Altogether it was a great day. Well got to go. I am watching a video with Eric. Lois and Clark (Superman Season 1). Pain
A married couple went to the hospital to have their baby delivered.Upon their arrival, the doctor said he had invented a new machine thatwould transfer a portion of the mother's labor pain to the baby'sfather. He asked if they were willing to try it out. They were both very
much in favor of it. The doctor set the pain transfer to 10% forstarters, explaining that even 10% was probably more pain than thefather had ever experienced before. However, as the labor progressed, thehusband felt fine and asked the doctor to go ahead and kick it up a notch.
Thedoctor then adjusted the machine to 20% pain transfer. The husband wasstill feeling fine. The doctor checked the husband's blood pressure andwas amazed at how well he was doing. At this point, they decided to tryfor 50%. The husband continued to feel quite well. Since the paintransfer was obviously helping out the wife considerably, the husband
Encouraged the doctor to transfer ALL the pain to him. The wife delivered a healthybaby with virtually no pain. She and her husband were ecstatic. Whenthey got home, the mailman was dead on the porch.

I was doing my laundry today, which is out in the garage and locked myself out of the apartment. I had to wait for Jamie to come home from work to let me in. I walked to my friends to use her phone. It took me about 30 minutes so i got my walk in for the day. Now i put my laundry key on my key ring. No more locking myself out. Go thing the weather was nice.

Tami's Surgery

A few years back Tami fell off a horse and broke her back. A little while ago it started hurting her really bad. She would go numb in one of her legs and was in pain all the time. Finally she got medicare and went to the doctor. They did a bunch of test on her, some were not very pleasant at all . They stuck her with needles in her leg at which she cried. That was on a friday and by Monday they said she would have surgery the following Tuesday, which was today. Whenever they put Tami out she wakes up crying, which she did today probably more that usual. She had it done at USC hospital. They took out her pins and filled the holes with a bone graph from her hip. They thought they might have to do everything over again, but in the end it was not necessary. Now she can heal faster. I don't think she wanted me to leave (once when she had her apendix out I stayed with her in the hospital). Not this time. Hopefully this will be the last time she will need surgery. Mom, Donna and I went to the dollar movie this morning and saw Nanny McPhee. I thought it was a great movie. This was may second time seeing it. Mom and Donna enjoyed it too. Then we went to WalMart. Mine is much better than the one where Mom lives. She also had her hair cut at a salon that I go too. They did a good job. It looked really nice. It was great to spend the day with them. Went to the movie and out to dinner with Donna and Mom. Saw the premier of "Take the Lead "with Antonio Bandares. Was an okay movie. Loved the dancing, wish I could dance like that. Lots of swearing. It was entertaining. It was also a little long and dull in some spots. Well back to school on Monday. Spring break is over so back to the world of work.

GRANDKIDS

Kelli left yesterday after spending 9 days with me. It was great to visit with her and see my grandkids. I had many opportunities to watch them. Kelli was here because her best friend was having a bridal shower and going to the temple. Now everything is so quite. I miss them already and they will be back for a week in April, when her friend get married in the Newport Temple April 28. This friend was one of kellis bridemaid and now she is hers. It will be great to see my grandkids agaim.

Tami is going to have surgery April 11 at USC Medical Center. Her back did not heal properly and they have to redo it. She will be in the hospital for 3 to 6 days.

I am off school for the next week We are on Spring Break. It is early this year because we started school early last year. It is nice to have a break. Hope all is well with everyone.

Sorry it has taken me so long to update this blog. My life has been very busy lately. First i was living by myself and now I have had two return home. Eric and Jamie have come bact to roost. Eric and I have just come home from Wal Mart. Made our midnight run. Needed new movies to watch. I have been working steady. I went to visit Kelli and her family a few weekends ago. Drove all by myself, could find no one to go with me. It was great to see my grandchildren again. I went to help Kelli, she had to take both boys to the hospital to have tubs put in their ears. It was the first time I have ever heard Ryan cry. It was very upsetting to me. Trevor was better this time. He had it done once before and was very upset afterwards. This time he calmed down sooner. Always had to see your children struggle when their is really nothing you can do for them until the medicine wears off. Traci is getting bigger. Her baby is due in June. Seems their are lots of babies due this year. Well I am really tired so I will say good night. Love you all.

Hello everyone, sorry it has taking so long to write again. With christmas and the new Years I have been really busy.I spend the holidays with Kelli and her family, Jamie, tami and her boyfriend and Jim. We had a great time trevor had to be the one to open all the presents for everyone. I bought myslef a new car Staurn Ion. My First brand new car. I love the way it drives and it's nice knowing that I have a safe reliable car. Tami just finished her first set of classes and she is loving them. She started two more then week of christmas and she is still hanging in there. Eric is coming home hopefully on saturday. We all can't wait to see him again. Hello Everyone,

Sorry it has taken me so long to write on my blog. I have been busy packing and moving for the last month. We had to be out of the house by Nov. 30 and we had tons of stuff to go through and move. We finally saw the end of the road. I now live in an apartment by Bill. It is kind of strange to live in an apartment after living in a house for so many years. It is a big apartment 12oo sq.ft. My extra bedroom is packed with boxes. I have to clean it out by Jan. 21st when Eric comes home on leave. I have been working steady ,but now their is nothing on the subfinder for the next week, because school will be out on the 16th for 3 weeks. So nobody is going out for leave. Eric left for boot camp monday night. My son in law Kevin gave him a blessing before he left. It is strange not to have him around. I miss him, but know that this is good for him. I worry about all the bad stuff you hear about the marines and boot camp. Please remember him in your prayers. He called me when he got to the hotel monday night. Well Tami has decided to take a class online. She has done very will. Her first test and she only missed 1. She is taking medical transcriptions. She said the teacher was very helpful. I am really proud of her. Kelli has found a place to live in San Jose in a condo. It happens to be in aplace where we use to live, at least the park anyway. She will go to the same church building, but be in a different ward. She went to San Jose this week, with just the boys to find the place. She drove all by herself. Well hope all is well. Jim's brother Matt had to evacuate in Texas, they lived in Missouri City which is between Houston and Galvaston. They went to Austin. Hope Mike and Betsy are well. Love to you all.

sorry that i have not written lately but alot has been happening. first i have to move by november 25. i have already found a place to live. bill got it for me. i live across from his place. i will be moving alone. eric was going to go with me but he decided to join the marines. he leaves october 17 to san deigo for boot camp then to florida for schooling. i think it will be good for him but i do worry about the war. kelli told me today that she is moving to san jose the middle of october. kevin got a tranfer. she is happy but i will miss her and my grandchildren. good thing she is not nver far away. i am working steady between switchboard and secretay. i am realy tired when i get home. well my bed is calling. hope all is well with everyone love you all lots

Well it happened. They changed my job for the third time. As of Monday I will be the swichboard operator they say for the rest of the school, if they do not change their minds again. This one positon I really like. Being a secretary was fun to, at least I made more money. But this position will last longer. I hope all is well with everyone.

Hello Everyone,

It is so nice to write on a blog that works. This will be short, because I have to get to bed. I have to go to work tomorrow. I am subing as a secretary for the Vice Principal of Special Education. School does not start until next monday for the students. I have to get all the IEP folders ready for the teachers and the new students. I may not have this job for long, because I cannot access a certain program because I am a sub. In that case they will put me in another position and find someone who can do the program.
